Women in business are being invited to explore a different approach to leadership at an upcoming Cumbria Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Network event in Penrith.
Taking place on Tuesday 13 October at Roundthorn Country House, the interactive session will look at how leadership is changing and why qualities such as building trust, creating psychological safety, developing others, communicating with empathy and leading through influence are increasingly valuable in today’s workplace.
Rather than focusing on what women need to change or improve, the event will explore how women can recognise the leadership qualities they already possess and use them more intentionally.
Exploring a different approach to leadership
The session, presented by Laura Cadman of Laura Cadman Limited, will explore behavioural leadership and the importance of how we lead, as well as what we achieve.
Topics will include:
- Why behavioural leadership matters
- Creating workplace cultures where people can thrive and perform at their best
- The difference between strategic empathy and people pleasing
- Leading through influence rather than authority
- Recognising strengths that we may underestimate in ourselves
- Using those strengths to increase impact, visibility and influence in business
Interactive and practical
The event has been designed to encourage discussion, reflection and participation rather than simply listening to presentations.
Delegates will have the opportunity to share experiences, consider their own leadership strengths and take part in practical activities designed to help them apply what they learn.
The session will finish with afternoon tea and networking, providing an opportunity to continue conversations and connect with other women in business from across Cumbria.
