Connect to Work: New Programme to Tackle Barriers to Employment in Cumbria

Organisations across Cumbria are being invited to bid for a new government-funded initiative designed to help people with complex needs move into sustainable employment.

Launching in January 2026, Connect to Work is a collaborative effort from Cumberland Council, Westmorland and Furness Council, and Enterprising Cumbria, aiming to break down the barriers that prevent many individuals from accessing the job market.

This initiative forms part of a wider commitment to increase employment, reduce inequality, and support inclusive economic growth across the region.
